For INVESTORs

Organisations lose revenue to poor strategy execution. Most find out too late.
Stratlio changes that.

Research published in Harvard Business Review found that companies capture on average only 63% of their strategy’s financial potential every year – not bad strategy, just commitments that were never made explicit, never properly tracked, and never caught early enough. No existing platform manages commitment integrity. Stratlio does.

Strategy tools help identify goals, while task managers track ongoing work. However, neither effectively measures whether agreements between teams are being upheld or where breakdowns in collaboration might occur.

Stratlio is developing a system to bridge this gap.

The insight for this initiative came from eight years working within a strategy execution platform. Embedded in the product was a module based on Promise-Based Management, a framework created by Fernando Flores and Terry Winograd in the 1980s, and
later developed for practice by Donald Sull and Charles Spinosa in the Harvard Business Review (“Promise-Based Management: The Essence of Execution”, April 2007). The central premise is that execution improves when team agreements are explicit, voluntary, and tracked, rather than assumed, assigned, or hoped for.

Data consistently showed that users of the commitment-based module outperformed others across all satisfaction and engagement metrics – not the dashboards or OKR tools, but the layer that made agreements visible.

After this experience, the founder began conducting independent strategy diagnostics and observed the same patterns: cross-team agreements were often invisible, and by the time issues were recognised, it was already too late to address them.

The conclusion drawn was that this is a structural issue, not a problem with individuals. It requires a structural solution – rather than simply improving dashboards.

Stratlio serves as a system of record for agreements between teams. Every cross-team agreement is clearly defined; someone explicitly states their commitment, identifies the desired outcome, and sets a deadline. Stratlio tracks how these agreements interconnect (indicating which team's delay will affect others), how reliably teams meet their commitments over time, and whether the overall strategy remains on course.

Stratlio offers three critical features that no existing tool provides in one place:

1. Named Agreements, Not Assumed Tasks: Every cross-team commitment has an owner who has explicitly said yes.

2. Dependency Mapping: Stratlio highlights which team's delay will impact others, scored by its reach across the organization (Dependency Reach).

3. Reliability Tracking: A real-time measure reflects whether teams meet their commitments, providing a clear signal regarding the status of the overall strategy (Strategy Confidence: Green, Amber, Red).

Organizations today are more cross-functional than ever, yet the tools available have not kept pace.

Strategy is in one tool. Tasks are in another. Agreements live in Slack threads, email chains, and meeting notes. The picture of what's actually happening across your organisation exists nowhere.

As AI accelerates the pace of change and increases execution complexity, the gap between leadership's perception of reality and actual events widens.
What we are looking for

We are raising £150k-£250k pre-seed to fund Stratlio through to its first paying customers and seed-readiness. We are targeting £1.5M–2.5M at the seed round, which we expect to initiate at £225–250k NET ARR with 25-30 paying customers.

TWO INVESTMENT ROUTES

ROUTE 1:
Advance Subscription Agreement (ASA)
For UK-based angels seeking SEIS relief

How it works
You invest now. Shares are issued at the next priced round. SEIS income tax relief of 50% is claimed in the tax year you invest – before shares are formally issued.

The numbers
£50,000 invested
− £25,000 tax relief (50% SEIS)
= £25,000 net cost

In addition to 50% income tax relief, SEIS investors benefit from two CGT advantages: gains on the SEIS shares themselves are exempt from CGT after a three-year holding period (provided income tax relief was claimed and not withdrawn); and up to 50% of gains realised from other asset disposals in the same tax year can be sheltered from CGT by reinvesting into qualifying SEIS shares.

⚠️ Subject to HMRC advance assurance confirmation.

ROUTE 2:
Convertible Loan Note (CLN)

For non-UK investors or those outside SEIS

How it works
You advance a loan that converts to equity at the next qualifying round (£250k+ raise). You receive a 20% discount on the seed round price, protected by a £2M valuation cap.

Key terms
Valuation cap: £2,000,000
Conversion discount: 20%
Interest: 2% p.a. (converts to equity)
Maturity: 24 months

We're looking for 2–4 investors. B2B SaaS operators, enterprise software founders, or investors with public sector or professional services experience are particularly welcome.
