Built to close the gap between what leaders decide and what organisations actually deliver.

Stratlio is based on a simple observation: most organisations can articulate what they aim to achieve, but very few can tell you whether they are actually achieving it.

Not because people aren't working hard. Because the agreements between teams – who's doing what, for whom, by when – have never been tracked in one place. They live in emails, meeting notes, and people's heads. And when something goes wrong, everyone's surprised.

We're building Stratlio to change that.

Execution is not just a list of tasks; it's a web of agreements between people. When one agreement falters, it often disrupts others, leading to a chain reaction. The real risk lies not in the individual tasks but in the dependencies among them that go unnoticed.

Before founding Stratlio, Dan Hjorth spent eight years working with another strategy execution platform, where he designed features, interacted with customers, and observed how organisations used the tools they had purchased.

One thing stood out. Buried inside the platform was a module based on Promise-Based Management – the idea that execution works better when agreements between teams are explicit rather than assumed. The users of that module were consistently more engaged, more satisfied, and more likely to say the product was genuinely changing how their organisation ran.

It wasn't the goal-tracking tools or the dashboards that made a difference; it was the visibility of commitments.

After leaving, Dan conducted strategy diagnostics, design, and implementation work as an independent consultant and noticed the same breakdown patterns across various sectors and organization sizes. The root cause remained the same: the agreements between teams were invisible, and by the time anyone recognised the issue, the damage had already been done.

Research published in Harvard Business Review quantifies what Dan had been observing firsthand: organisations deliver on average only 63% of their strategy’s financial potential – a 37% gap caused not by failed strategy or disengaged people, but by commitments that were never made explicit, never properly tracked, and never caught early enough. The market for a solution is large.

What we believe about execution – and built Stratlio around:

Voluntary ownership
There is a significant difference between being told to do something and agreeing to do it. Only the latter fosters true ownership. Stratlio is built around this principle.

Early renegotiation is not a failure.
Changing a plan early is not a sign of failure; it is a sign of honesty. Organisations that execute well are not those that never deviate from the plan, but rather those that identify issues early and adapt before the damage compounds.

Underdelivery is a visibility problem.
Teams do not underdeliver due to disengagement; they underdeliver because no one recognised that they were overextended until it was too late to intervene.

Leaders deserve real signals.
Leaders should not have to guess whether things are on track. They should be able to see the status clearly, in real time, based on what is actually happening, not relying on last Friday's update.

Accountability without blame.
A culture of accountability can be built without fostering a culture of blame. The design of the system is what makes the difference.
